FEMALE GENITAL MUTILATION (FGM)
Female genital mutilation, also known as female circumcision, is used as a form of preservation prior to marriage. The procedure is to alter, cut, snip and remove parts of the external genital area of a female. As you are reading this, there are many young girls from infancy into their late teens, even before puberty, who are being tortured worldwide, predominately in Africa, Asia, Middle-East, and the surrounding areas and even here in the UK, where it is illegal.
The procedure is traditionally carried out by older females with no form of medical training and the practice is carried out with basic knives, scissors, scalpels, broken glass, razor blades and other sharp objects.
